OsteoMed Adds to Extremilock Ankle Fracture Plating System

New instrument set is for anterior and posterior ankle fusion.

OsteoMed LLC has released a new component of its Extremilock ankle fracture plating system, the Extremilock ankle fusion plating system. The new set is an instrument and implant system designed to accommodate both anterior and posterior approaches. The ankle fracture plating system consists of six different types of fracture plates. Collectively, the Extremilock fusion and fracture plating systems offer two fusion plating options, six types of fracture plating options, seven types of screw fixation options and color-coded instrumentation to facilitate ease of use.

“The Extremilock ankle fusion plating system incorporates many of the advantages of the recently launched Extremilock ankle plating system and broadens OsteoMed’s innovative solutions focused on the small bone orthopedic market,” said Dave Kelly, vice president of small bone orthopaedics. “Our fellowship-trained Foot and Ankle surgeon design team incorporated key components in the system that address unmet existing needs in the market. This new offering marks the culmination of our Extremilock ankle fracture system and allows OsteoMed to compete at an elevated level, while continuing to take significant market share. The Extremilock ankle fusion plating system represents the first of many new product launches scheduled for 2015 with a strategic focus on the foot and ankle community.”

OsteoMed makes surgical devices for the small bone orthopedics, craniomaxillofacial, neuro, and spine spaces.
